2000 Toyota Tundra Bed Rust

Bang all the rust off.

2000 toyota tundra bed rust. Hi all I bought a 2014 Tundra Crew max in January as my second vehicle. Toyota has recalled 2000-2003 Tundra frames. The bed of my 2000 Tundra is rusting out where the cross members are welded to the bed and where the bolts are connected to the frame.

Finish cost with Rustoleum. No apology no offer to talk to the manager no help. This has cause abnormal tire wear.

Few dings both sides good used bed Wo stepside Crew Cab 4 Dr fender flare. The company had to recall thousands of Toyota Tundra models of 2000-2003 sold in the US because of frame rust. Turn back over and Re-install and drive it to welders and let them do any structural fixes.

Spray paint with rust converter. Most recently my alignment components seized up with rust and now the vehicle can not be properly aligned with out replacement of those components. When I looked under the truck the mount that holds the leaf spring was torn off the frame.

Took my 2000 in for frame inspection todayafter about 20 minutes they came back and said it failed and frame will be replacedProblem is my bed is so rusty I think it may fall apart when mounting bolts are removedit has several large holes in it and bad rust around all of the boltsTruck just hit 144000 miles it is a daily driver only and has been well maintained. Toyota Tundra was the second full-size pickup truck built by a Japanese manufacturer and the first full-size pickup to be built in North America from a Japanese manufacturer. Stopped by my local Toyota dealer today to ask about TSBs on this issue.

Like the Tacoma the Tundras biggest rust issue is the notorious frame rust which has been at the center of many financial settlements lawsuits and recalls. Rust problems are common on Toyota trucks as evidenced in the number of recalls issued for rust-related issues on these models. I have a toyota tundra 2000 which has severe rust on the frame just this morning i noticed that the back left side of the truck was much lower then the right side.
